In this tutorial I will show you how to crochet Christmas doily for table decoration.
At the beginning you need prepare all materials and tools for crocheting.
Materials and tools:
- yarn (colors: red, white, green);
- Crochet hook (size: 1,25 mm).
Abbreviations for crochet in this tutorial:
- Chain - ch
- Slip stitch - sl st
- Double crochet - dc
- Single crochet - sс
- Stitch - st
- Double crochet 3 together - dc3tog
To crochet the central part of the doily, take the red yarn.
Row 1. Ch 8, 1 sl st to the first ch (furthest from hook) to create a ring.
Row 2. Ch 3 (counts as first dc), work 23 dc into center of ring, 1 sl st to top of 3 ch close round.
Row 3. Ch 4 (counts as first dc and 1 ch) *work 1 dc in next st, ch 1, repeat from * another 22 times, join with a sl st to 3rd ch if beginning.
Row 4. Make 1 sl st in 1 ch space from previous row, ch 3 (counts as first dc), 1 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc in same 1 ch space. Skip the next 1 ch space from the previous row. *Make 2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc in next 1 ch space from the previous row and skip the next 1 ch space from the previous row*. Repeat it ** to the end of the row. At the end of the row make 1 sl st in 3rd ch at the beginning of this row.
Row 5. Make 1 sl st in the top of dc from the previous row and 1 sl st in 1 ch space from the previous row. Make ch 3 (counts as first dc), 1 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc in same 1 ch space, 1 ch. *Make 2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc, 1 ch in next 1 ch space from the previous row*. Repeat it ** to the end of the row. At the end of the row make 1 sl st in 3rd ch at the beginning of this row.
Row 6. Make 1 sl st in the top of dc from the previous row and 1 sl st in 1 ch space from the previous row. Make ch 3 (counts as first dc), 1 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc in same 1 ch space, 2 ch, 1 sc in 1 ch space from the previous row, 2 ch. *In next 1 ch space from the previous row make 2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc, 2 ch and in next 1 ch space make 1 sc, 2 ch*. Repeat it ** to the end of the row. At the end of the row make 1 sl st in 3rd ch at the beginning of this row.
Row 7. Make 1 sl st in the top of dc from the previous row and 1 sl st in 1 ch space from the previous row. Make ch 3 (counts as first dc), 1 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc in same 1 ch space, 3 ch, 1 sc in the top of sc from the previous row, 3 ch. *In next 1 ch space make 2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc, 3 ch. In the top of sc from the previous row make 1 sc, 3 ch*. Repeat it ** to the end of the row. At the end of the row make 1 sl st in 3rd ch at the beginning of this row. Fasten the thread.
Change the color of the yarn to white.
Row 8. Insert crochet hook under 1 ch space, take thread and make 1 ch and 1 sc in same 1 ch space. Make 9 ch, 1 sc in next 1 ch space. Repeat it to the end of the row. Make 1 sl st to the top of first sc in this row.
Row 9. Make 1 sl st to the first 9 ch space. Make 3 ch (counts as first dc), 11 dc in the same 9 ch space. In each of next 9 ch space make 12 dc. At the end of the row make 1 sl st to 3rd ch at the beginning of this row.
Row 10. Make 3 ch, 1 dc in the top of dc from the previous row. Make *2 ch, skip 1 st and in next top of dc make 1 dc*. Repeat it ** 3 times yet. Make *2 ch, skip 1 st, in next 3 st make dc3tog, (2 ch, skip 1 st, in next st make 1 dc)x4*. Repeat it ** to the end of the row. Make 2 ch, skip 1 st, 1 dc in next st and 1 sl st in 3rd ch at the beginning of the row. Fasten the thread.
Change the color of the yarn to green.
Row 11. Find first 2 ch space after dc3tog from the previous row. Insert crochet hook under this ch space and make 1 ch and *1 sc in 2 ch space. Make 2 ch, skip next 2 ch space and make in next 2 ch space 3 dc, 3 ch, 3 dc, 2 ch, skip 2 ch space, in next 2 ch space make 1 sc, 3 ch*. Repeat it ** to the end of the row. At the end of the row make 1 sl st in the top of sc at the beginning of the row.
Row 12. Make 1 sl st in each of next 2 ch, 1 sl st in the top of dc, 4 ch (counts as first dc and 1 ch), (in next st make 1 dc, 1 ch)x2, in 3 ch space make (1 dc, 1 ch)x3, in each of next 3 st make (1 dc, 1 ch), in 3 ch space make 1 sc, 1 ch. *Make in each of next 3 tops of dc (1 dc, 1 ch), in 3 ch space make (1 dc, 1 ch)x3, in each of next 3 tops of dc (1 dc, 1 ch), in 3 ch space make 1 sc, 1 ch*. Repeat it ** to the end of the row. At the end of the row make 1 sl st in 3rd ch at the beginning of the row.
Row 13. Make 1 sl st in the first 1 ch space, 1 ch, 1 sc in same 1 ch space. **Make in next 1 ch space *1 sc, 3 ch, 1 sc*. Repeat it ** 5 times yet. *In next 1 ch space make 1 sc*. Repeat it ** 2 times yet**. Repeat it **** to the end of the row. At the end of the row make 1 sl st in the top of sc at the beginning of the row. Fasten the thread.
